Conversations With the Kiddos

For several months now, I have been thinking about the kids future, specifically their spiritual future. As every parent, I want only the best for my kid's future. I want them to be happy and successful in life, but that is not the most important aspect about their future that I am most concern with. As a believer, I want my children to come to put their complete faith in Jesus. I want them to believe that He is the only one that can save you from your sin. I want them to believe that He is the only God that can bring you complete peace, joy and comfort. I have been praying for their salvation and that God would give me the right words to say so that they would come understand the importance ofGod, to love God and the sacrifice that He did for all of us on the Cross. This week has been a great blessing, I have been able to share the Gospel with the kids in little nuggets at a time. Izzy and I have had wonderful conversations about who Jesus is and what He did for us. The other day on the way to the zoo, I was telling Izzy that the most important thing that Jesus did for us was to die on the cross for our sins so that God would not punish us. We also got into the conversation about heaven. I shared with her that the only way to get to heaven is by believing in Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross. She was quiet for most of my speech, but a few minutes later, she says "momma, I believe in Jesus. Even if I don't see him, I still believe in him." Tears filled my eyes! I was so thankful to God for the opportunity and so thankful that her heart is open to learn about Him. Ricky had been quiet the whole time, I didn't even think he was paying attention. He says to me, "Jesus died on the cross for my sins momma!" Praise God! I know his word is true "Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 That is our ultimate goal for them in life, and we know that everything else will be extra blessings.

Lord, thank you for the wonderful gifts of Izzy and Ricky. They are such a means of grace to us. We never thought we could love someone like we love them. We are completely amazed by how much we love them and we are reminded that You, Father, love us even more! Thank you for sending your Son to die on the cross for our sins, we will be forever thankful!

Congratulations Irma! I completly agree with you in that believing in god should be the most important aspect in our children's lives. Likewise, I have also been spending time with my kiddo's reading about Easter and who Jesus was. I got alot of "Pobrecito and tears" from my Kaitlin while my wild Ethan kept telling her don't cry Jesus is strong like hulk and spiderman he is coming back, he is not dead. I guess the idea was there but the comparison was too funny!. HAVE A HAPPY EASTER!!
