My Birthday Weekend

Last Friday I celebrated by 8th birthday! Yes, you read right, I finally turned 8. You see, I was born on February 29th and it only comes around every four years and this year was one of them. My day started out by waking up early and going to sub for a friend of mine that was moving. It was interesting trying to explain to fourth graders how leap years work; it did however make for an awesome short math lesson! Later that night, I went to my friend's Tania's house (which turned out beautiful!) and had a girl's night. My friends Jonalee, Mieke and Tania had prepared a night filled with the things I like. They had ordered Chinese food, Mieke had made my favorite chocolate dessert and we played some games. At one point during the night, all four of us cracked out our SLR cameras and began taking pictures of random things! We even took pictures of each others taking pictures. We were lucky that Jonalee did a little lesson on working with your camera. I'll post some pictures later. I had a lot of fun laughing and spending time with the girls! Thanks ladies!
Saturday, which is the day I usually celebrate my birthday was an exciting day as well. The day started out by cleaning the house (fun, I know!). After Izzy took her nap, my in-laws came over to get Izzy and took her out for the day. I had a chance to run some errands, pamper myself and sit and relax before Rene got home from grad school. When Rene got home, we got ready and headed out to have dinner at P.F Chang's in White Flint. The funny thing was that as I was walking out the door, I noticed that I did not have my wallet in my purse. I told Rene that I would go look for it, but he told me not to because we were running late. During the ride to the restaurant, all I could think about was were had I left my wallet? I started to worry because I thought I had left my wallet at the nail salon! When we got to the restaurant there was an hour long wait. While we waited Rene discovered that he too did not have his wallet! So we decided to go back home and get our wallets. I was glad because that meant I could go searching for my wallet! When we got home, I opened the garage door and was greeted by my whole family yelling "surprise!" It had all been part of the plan, they were all in it! Rene had taken out my wallet, so I would not have anything to pay with and my family had order P.F Chang's for me! It was so cute to see Izzy running around clapping her hands and being happy! What a wonderful day it was. I am so thankful to have a family that loves me so much and goes out of their way to bring joy to my life! Thanks everyone!
