Traditions

As the Christmas season continues, Rene and I have been thinking of traditions to start with our little one. We have come up with some, but have come to the realization that some of the traditions we want to start will need to wait until Izzy gets a little older. The main tradition that we are starting this year, is having both sides of the family come to our house on Christmas day. As many of you know, both of our family's main Christmas celebrations are done on Christmas Eve, but we have decided that we would love to have everyone over at our house for a Christmas day lunch. We hope that this will allow all our love ones the opportunity to enjoy seeing the baby of the family open presents!

Tonight we started a new tradition, we made Christmas cookies! We were planning on involving Izzy in the preparations, but it did not turn out the way we had hoped. Let's just say that she enjoyed eating some Hershey Kisses and playing in the kitchen instead. We made some Peanut Butter Kisses cookies. We got the recipe from the churches cookbook. It was really easy and it did not take too long to bake.

We hope to continue making new traditions this season and throughout the year, but most of all we hope that we can teach Izzy the importance of Christmas and how it can changed our lives.
