International Fashion Show

Every year, my school has an international night. Tonight, we celebrated the wonderful native outfits from many countries by having an International Fashion Show. Countries were represented by students, parents and teachers. For some it was a family event where dad, mom and child walked the runway. It was so neat to see the many different traditional dresses with bold colors and beautiful details. I had several of my current and past students participate. Some of my school staff also participated. My principal wore a traditional dress from India, the ESOL teacher and second grade teacher wore traditional dress from Korea, the building service manager represented Peru and a special appearance was made by Izzy representing El Salvador. Let me tell you, she loved walking down the runway (assisted by mom of course!). Her hands and feet were all over the place and she smiled from ear to ear! I thought she was going to be scared and start crying, but she wasn't.

She loves that hat!
