Quotes

On Wednesday night we were waiting for Rene to get home from work and the weather and roads were really bad. It was taking people HOURS to get home and we were starting to get concern for Rene's safety. I decided to pray with the kids and Izzy asked if she could lead us in prayer. This was her prayer:

"Thank you God for giving us snow. Please help my teachers, my dad and my grandma get home safely. (then she pauses). Ok God, could you please stop the snow and let them come home, then you can start it again." Got to love her way of thinking!

Later that night, I had to go out and shovel the driveway so that Rene could get in. Both kids wanted to go out, but it was coming down fast and it was the wet kind of snow, so I opted to keep them inside. Ricky was not a happy camper! He kept telling me, "momma, I a good helper! I a good helper!" He grabbed his shovel and kept saying "I shovel for you, I shovel for you!" I hope that desire to help shovel will be there in the teenage years!

By the way, it took Rene four hours to get home. It took my sister Daisy about SIX hours to get home! This snowstorm was the worst snowstorm for traffic. There were about 100 cars left on the GW Parkway and a bunch more on I270. So glad it's over, now we wait for next week. Another storm approaching!
