Carlo's Bakery Trip!

Yesterday Rene took me on a little adventure! I had been wanting to go to Hoboken, NJ for a while now to visit Carlo's Bakery from the TLC show Cake Boss (Monday nights @10). We finally had an opportunity to go yesterday (thanks grandma for taking care of the kids). It turned out to be one of the coldest days in December, but it was worth it!!! I got to spend some quality time with my hubby without any distractions! Our plan was to get to Hoboken, eat lunch at this nice Italian restaurant, go to the bakery, catch a movie and head back home. Well...when we got to Hoboken and found the restaurant, we also found out that they were closed:( Next, we drove by the bakery to find a HUGE line to get in. The line went out the door and down the block AND around the corner. We were both tempted to just take pictures of the outside and pretend that we were there. However, I had been wanting to try their pastries since they look so good on tv. We ended up having some New York style pizza from one of the pizzarias down the block and it was REALLY good! When I walked over to get in line, all I could think was, this better be worth it! We stood in line for over an hour and a half. Let's just say that by the end I could hardly feel my toes and feet! We finally made it in and I was a little taken back by how small the bakery was and to see some of the cast in person! One of them was kind enough to agree to take a picture with me! We got some goodies and then got to take some pictures of New York City, then we drove back home. Oh yeah, we also stopped by an outlet, but didn't end up getting anything:(

I had a good time with Rene, talking, laughing and making memories! Thank you love for indulging in my craziness. We both agreed that next time we want to visit the bakery, it will be in the summer time!

The blond lady in the middle, Mary, is one of Buddy's sisters! Mauro, is Buddy's right hand man and brother-in-law (He's married to Buddy's sister Madeline).
