4th of July and More

We live in the greatest country in the world!! We have so many freedoms, that sometimes we take for granted. I love celebrating the Fourth of July, because it gives us, the American people, a chance to remember the freedom that is given to us and a chance to pay tribute to ALL the men and women who have served and are currently serving our country here in the states and overseas. THANK YOU SOLDIER for risking your life to keep our country safe and for allowing us to keep our freedom! Special thanks to several soldier that I know that are serving. Not sure of their ranks so I'll just name them. Rene's cousin Micheal Dela Cruz, Sarah's brother Tim Smith (who will be going out for his second tour soon, God bless him!) And a pair of father and son Gerald Fernandez and Gigi Fernandez (I knew Gigi since he was a little boy and now he is a man fighting for our country!). Thank you, thank you, thank you. A special thanks to all the families who are also sacrificing a lot by letting their love ones go! These soldiers could not do this without your support!

This year for our 4th of July festivities, Rene and I decided to go see the fireworks with the family. Izzy spent the night at abuela's so we had a day with just Ricky. Kid hadn't gotten so much attention from mom and dad in a long time:) We had lunch at the Rockville Town Center (very nice place) and then came home for Ricky's nap. Around 7pm we headed out to pick up Izzy and grandma and to get some ice cream (at my favorite place, Bruster's!). The Dela Cruz's girls and mom came out with us, which made it more fun! We thought we were going to be able to see the fireworks from the parking lot across the street. We were particially right, Izzy did get to see some fireworks, or as she calls it "firefighters!" We had a nice time!

Here are some pics from last night!

Muscle Man!

Ricky did so good, it was WAY pass his bedtime!

Cousin Angela

Our budding photographer! Every time she sees me with my camera, she asks to use "her" camera!

Abuela and Izzy waiting for the "firefighters" to start!

She's into the fake cheesy smile now!

We also went blueberry picking with some of my family members the day before and had a blast! Izzy ate more blueberries than she picked! At the orchard that we went to, there were some slides that Izzy was so excited to go down!

Gabby picking blueberries!
Having fun messing with grandma's hair!

Tio Jr. was nice to carry Ricky for me:) Ricky had a blast!

Gabby and Izzy coming down the slide. Izzy must of gone down about five times!

Blueberry not as sweet as she thought it would be!

Debbie picking blueberries to make a pie or cake! Girl loves to cook!

Eating more than picking:)
