In Loving Memory of Papa

Our hearts are sadden with the passing away of our beloved Ricardo. My father-in-law passed away yesterday morning around 6 o'clock in the morning. We are all sad to have him gone, but at the same time, relieved that he is no longer in any pain and that he is in a better place now. I have known Ricardo for about 15 years and have grown to respect and love him very much. He was a devoted husband to my mother-in-law; he was always looking for ways to care for his wife and provide everything for her. As a father, he made tremendous sacrifices to make sure that Rene had it better than he did. I'm told that when Rene was a child (and maybe even a teenager) and he was sick, Ricardo would always make sure that Rene was comfortable and had his medicine, even if it was in the middle of the night. As a son, Ricardo cared for his mother after the passing of his own father and had been caring for her for the past 30 years. As a grandpa, well, he just ADORED his granddaughter. Izzy was the world to him and she LOVED her grandpa. They had built a very special connection since birth. He would care for her with such love and was always willing to spoil her in any way possible. He had many plans for what they would do together in the future. Whenever he had any change in his pockets, he would always put it in a jar and say that it was for Izzy's tuition fund. Lately, he had been talking about purchasing a minivan so that the "grandkids" would ride comfortable and in style. As a father-in-law he was so kind to me and was always looking for ways to serve me, specially while pregnant. He would always make sure that I was ok and that I was getting enough rest and help with Izzy. After his second operation, I had the privilege of caring for him by taking him to his therapies and doctor's appointments. I'm thankful for those opportunities, it made our relationship grow closer. Ricardo was also well loved by many of their friends. He was always looking for ways to help others and to make them laugh.

Dad,
We will miss you greatly! We will always keep reminding ourselves of your good humor and the grandkids will know about their grandfather and how much you loved them. We have the hope that we will see you again in heaven when the Lord calls us home.

Love you Dad,
Rene, Irma, Izzy and baby Ricky
