A couple of hours later my family came over. By now Izzy was a little bit more comfortable with ripping the paper off. We had a good time eating some panes con pavo (turkey sandwiches Salvadorian style, yum) and playing some Wii. We had a blast seeing my older sisters playing the boxing game on the Wii. Too bad I promised them I would not post the pictures I took, they turned out hilarious! What a special day it was, filled with laughter, joy and lots of love!

Izzy got a toy dog that barks, wags it's tail and sticks out her tongue! She would feed some cookies to her dog and then she would feed the other grandpa Ricardo! Too cute! The rest of our holiday break has been spent painting our bedroom. Rene has done an outstanding job painting! At first we did not like the color we chose (brown and white), Rene kept saying it reminded him of smores! He wasn't sure he wanted to sleep in a bedroom that reminded him of Hershey's chocolate and marshmallows! I ended up calling my friend Jonalee and asking her for some advice. We followed her advice and ended up painting the whole room brown and some white and light blue accent colors. It has started to grow on us! We also gave our nightstands a face lift by painting them white (my small contribution!). I just felt bad that Rene spend most of his time off doing tedious house projects! THANK YOU LOVE! What a blessing you have been!
2007 left us with many fun memories and some not so fun. On New Year's Eve we went to spend some time with Rene's parents and when we came back around 7 pm, we discovered that our furnace had gone kaput! For the next several hours, Rene went back and forth from his parents house, CVS and Target trying to get space heaters and batteries for some propane heaters. Thank God that my in-laws and Target had some available! We had not planned on staying up that night, but we ended up anyways! We are happy to say that we got the furnace fix and it only cost us about a hundred dollars thanks to the home warranty we got when we purchased our home!
Well, we hope that 2008 will be a better one for us, all our love ones and our friends. Enjoy spending time with the ones you love!
