Our Weekend

Our weekend started off Friday night with a fun trip to Wolf Trap to see the Gypsy Kings. We were joined by our good friends Jonalee and Travis. We had a great time laughing, people watching and enjoying the performance. We left our house around 5:30ish, picked up Potbelly sandwiches (yummy!) and headed for Wolf Trap. Our goal was to be there atleast 90 minutes before the show so that we could get a good spot on the lawn. We got there on time and there were lots of people there already waiting in line to get in. In order for us to get a spot on the lawn, we assigned Travis the job of the "runner" so that he could run and spread the blanket as fast as he could. He got us a great spot, right in the middle! Rene's job was to rent these chairs that laid very low to the ground. The chairs were a great idea since they had comfortable back to them. We had an nice dinner and played cards before the performance started. My favorite part was at the end when the Gypsy Kings did an encore performance of their song "Bamboleo." It was a great night.

On Saturday we woke up and decided to go to our favorite breakfast restaurant, The Original House of Pancakes. We arrived before nine, so we got seated right away. The trick to getting seats right away at this restaurant is to get there before nine and to have your entire party there on time. The rest of the day was quiet and uneventful. We did some shopping at Target and Rene washed the cars. Thanks honey!

Sunday was our anniversary!! Seven years of marriage for the Najarros, wow! Fourteen years of knowing each other! It's funny each year we have gone away for vacation or had a dinner at a nice restaurant, but this year was completely different. We went to my sister's house to spend time with them. Izzy of course got showered with lots of clothes and toys. What a blessing my family is to us! We enjoyed our little one and ended our night by watching the show "The Company." Very different from the past! However, I could not stop thanking God for such a wonderful, dedicated and loving husband he provided for me. Rene has been a HUGE blessing in my life. Babe, thanks for caring, leading and providing for our family! You are doing a great job!!! The past seven years have not all been roses, we had our rough times, but our love for each other has only grown stronger and we rejoice at the good times we've had. I look forward to the rest of our life time together!
